Walk Information

A walk to raise awareness of people with Down syndrome  is an event the whole family can participate in. No matter what your age, all you have to do is put on your walking shoes
 and have some fun! Come experience the triumph of being part of a winning team. By participating in the  7th annual Michiana Buddy Walk, you are giving people with Down syndrome a chance for a brighter tomorrow. Won’t you help make a difference?

Teams

Create a team to support an individual with Down syndrome. Collect donations online or in person. Each team will receive a Team Sign to carry at the walk. There will be prizes for the teams that raise the most money. Please assign a Team Captain to collect all funds, walker information and waiver release signatures for each participant. For every $50 a team earns, the captain will receive a Michiana Buddy Walk T-shirt to distribute to team walkers present at the walk(while supplies last).

Each team will be given basic materials to make a sign to carry. Teams wishing to decorate their sign more elaborately, will need to bring their own additional materials.

Team Captains
All you need to do is use the Team Captain Form to keep tract of all donations (on-line and cash/check).  Teams with the largest donations will win a prize.
  
You will need to collect the following information from  people  who will be attending the Walk: Collect a signed Waiver Form from each Walker. Also, Walker's that donate $50 or more will receive a free T-shirt,  so  use the Team Captain Form to keep tract of their T-shirt sizes.
 
On the day of the walk,  arrive at 9:30 to turn in Team Captain Form, donations, and Waiver Forms.   You will be given your Team's T-shirts to distribute and Team Sign materials.

Arrive Early
The fun starts at 10:00 amThere will be lots to see and do so come early.  You can enjoy
the entertainment, see the displays and information tables, or participate in the silent auction & raffles. Free refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the walk.
